Why are there 2 treasure box speed up rewards this month
At first I thought this is great! we get the treasure box timer perk at 275pts, thank you Casino World.
Then looking closer it's a 120% speed up at 275pts and then the full 200% at 570pts.
What's going on? is this a joke?
-
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing!

I saw that too..had to laugh..just when i thought 275 was cool...

Thought the split speedup was an April Fools joke 'til I realized it was Mar 1 and not Apr 1 :(

LOL Rambler..good one!

I want to know is it 200% of the 120%?

I guess this is the new standard for speeding up the Treasure Boxes every month which pretty much means that from now on the 200% speed will always be either the third (probably not) or the last perk (most likely every month). The order of those perks can't be switched; have to have the lower increase always first. If that's the way it's going to be, please change the 120% to either 140% or 150%. The only significant time saved is if you choose the 8-hour box, and who does that anymore considering the prizes are NOT larger. I can see this change will not go over very well with the players, especially since you have already cut back on the amount of gems and party passes you can receive from TBs. This just adds more fuel to the fire.

I can't believe that there are now hours and minutes on the treasure box timers. I'd like to meet the bean counter that figured out that this will increase profits by 3%
Seriously, is the intention to annoy every active user?
2 -
I don't do the 8 hour boxes anymore either. I get the same prizes (usually mystic ruby or luckiest 7 ) in the 8 hour when I can get then in the 10 minute box

TeePee49- Not necessarily. It depends how the two timers work. Hopefully it means we can reduce it past the 200%. If this is the case, we can get them in any order. let's take the 2hr box as an example. If we get the 120% timer first, it reduces the timer to 1 hr. and 40 minutes. Then the 200% timer will reduce it further to 50 minutes. If we get the 200% timer first, it reduces the timer to 1 hr. Then the 120% box will reduce it further to the same 50 minutes. At the end of the month it is 50 minutes either way.
Now, this does only work if they are allowing it to be reduced past the 200%. Otherwise, you are right, it would make no sense to get the 200% then the 120%. Also, if you are right, not only does it mean we get the full 200% later every month, it also means one of the prize slots is used on the 120% timer instead other another prize. And really, nothing would surprise me anymore.

I agree with you Eorphere; however, I've only been playing for about two years and I have never seen the timer box appear in the first box. That's a disadvantage for CW and I don't think that it has been programmed to happen that way. Yes, you are right about short changing us a prize. I hope it's not those avatar tokens. I look forward to receiving them every month. LOLOL

Haha, yeah, I suppose they just waste spots too for the most part.
As far as the first box the perks can appear in, I don't think I have seen one in the first 3 boxes at least. I played for just over a year

I have seen the TB show up in the shortest timespan possible, 1st of a month. Each month you start off with at least 230 challenge points. I also always switch out the daily 10 pointers and almost always complete the challenges as soon as they appear. So there have been a very few months where the 2X TB speedup runs almost the entire month. Now it would appear that the full 2X TB may show up as late as say 740 challenge points into some/most months or very roughly (230 + 30 + 70 + 30 + 70 + 30 + 70 + 30 + 70 + 30 + 70 + 30) = 760 challenge points or the 12th of any given month! If you are really lucky then maybe as soon as say the 10th of a given month at the earliest (via switching of challenges and receiving some higher point challenges), when the 2X TB speedup is pushed forwards in time as much as might be expected now. The previous worst case scenario used to be the 9th of any given month as happened this past December and January (some very lucky souls may have reached this goal on the 8th day) when the 2X TB speedup was the last one to be unlocked.
If you don't like the current situation, and I don't like this latest change in the least, then vote with your purse/wallet, especially if you have bought gems in the rather recent past. If you have never bought gems before and you do not see that happening anytime soon then stop complaining as you are not supporting CW in the only meaningful way possible, that is, by buying gems.
I plan on waiting until the 2X TB speedup to buy any gems and to half my monthly gem purchases anytime it takes 8 days or longer to reach the 2X TB speedup. You all are free to do whatever you see to be fit as always. Good luck and hugs.
Expect this post to disappear in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... :/

I don't see this as a positive for any of us! Guess if it isn't I will just play less, spend less until I play no more! I mean why would I want to play if they take all the fun out of the game!

20% of two hours is 24 mintues. 1:36, not 1:40
20% of four hours is 48 minutes. 3:12, not 3:20
20% of eight hours is an hour and 36 minutes. 6:24, not 6:40.
if their programming could only handle round numbers like 20 and 40, then the time reduction should be 25%.
25% of two hours is 1:3025% of four hours is 3:00
25% of eight hours is 6:00

Big E 2,
Actually it works like this, the percentage is in terms of frequency, so 120% = 1.2/120 = 1/100 or new TB's show up every 100 minutes instead of 120 minutes.
And 2X or 200% = 2/120 = 1/60 or new TB's show up every 60 minutes instead of 120 minutes.
If CW compounds these two, then the order is unimportant (once both are on) and it is 1.2*2.0/120 = 2.4/120 = 1/50 = 50 minutes instead of 120 minutes. Will CW do compounding? Your guess is as good as mine, but I doubt it. :/

Also, a bit of a nit to pick, but whatever, it should be 20% speedup and 100% speedup, not 120% speedup and 200% speedup.
That one works like this, no speedup = 0% + original speed of 100% = 100% of the original speed = the original speed of 100% = 1.0X speedup, 20% speedup = 20% + original speed of 100% = 120% of the original speed (in frequency space) = 1.2X speedup, 100% speedup = 100% + original speed of 100% = 200% of the original speed (in frequency space) = 2X speedup.
I am somewhat underwhelmed by CW's math acumen, so to speak, and explanations thereof.

Frankie you are so right about the speedup numbers. I had just noticed the 200% wasn't correct myself. It's a misleading term anyway since the so called "200% speedup" is really is a 50% time reduction, lol. It's one of the few instances when less is actually better than more though.
I don't see this new "interim" TB speedup as any sort of positive, giving us a slight TB time reduction early on the road while at the same time, as another poster mentioned, also taking away one of our VIP road prizes. Looks like CW tried make a hollow gesture toward satisfying those who've complained about the long wait for the TB speedup, and reduced the amount of prizes VIPs get at the same time. We see what you did there CW, so sorry, we're not the idiots you seem to think we are. Unless you can satisfactorily explain how this is really a good thing, I'm not buying into it one bit. The more you take away from us, the less likely we are to continue to support you with our money or our presence here. I'm also starting the countdown on the life of this post.

LuckIs A Lady,
When you think about it, and you have completed the original game to gain permanent VIP status (obtaining MS70 or 450 billion coins), where the monthly fee goes away, and you are earning, say, a few billion coins (or more) per day, VIP status confers upon you just three things, (I) a 30% bonus in gems for any gems bought, (II) the 2X TB speedup and (III) 5K party passes (but if you average say 40K party passes per day under the 2X TB speedup, even that is minor). Everything else you get each month from the vault/challenges is mostly chump change, in my honest opinion.
Of these VIP benefits (or any benefits CW confers to date), I consider the 2X TB speedup to be, by far, the most important benefit of the entire CW gameplay.
I also have something to say on the benefits of city size, as after 1.6 million gems worth of buildings/monuments, various caps come into play (see my profile for more info). I now have over 5 million gems worth of monuments, but after the 4 day grace period for new buildings/monuments, I only earn slightly more than one billion coins per day from my city (now at almost 66 L4 monuments, Mudds has like 2.5X what I currently have), while for the rest of my gameplay I earn like ten billion coins per day (I am currently hoarding ponies right now (you can also hoard party passed instead of charms for that matter) in 2023 (keeping one's powder dry so to speak as several players appear to be doing now and appear to have done so in previous years as carryover to start the new year with a bang, so to speak)) so my daily total is not currently reflecting my total potential coins this year, so far.
In other words, because of upper limit caps on coins/passes/gems/charms you can earn from your city, from the TB and four per day city cleanouts, it just is not that important to keep on building your city significantly past 1.6 million gems (or 20 L4 monuments per Night Guy). The only real reason I continue to build out my city further is to support CW by buying gems (I could really care less about my city ranking, except for the fact that I do earn about one billion coins per day). All of my gems (free and bought) go directly into my city. I am also definitely not a proponent of toss parties either (using very generous assumptions, mind you, one can show that toss parties have lower ROI versus say city building (anything is better than a net loss in gems/coins even one where a 25X (people) and 1X to 10X (party size) multipliers and bonus prizes in busting the party are included (as long term averages, as you may get lucky occasionally, or very short term, with a very big bonus gem prize(s))).
Finally, I await the day when CW reports net winnings AND losses, versus either just positive net winnings or gross winnings as is done now, particularly for games such as Sports Book and Emerald City Stakes (which are both gross not net).
Oh and only buy gems on 2 for 1 days.
Most of the long term or veteran players already know these things or should come to know these things as soon as possible, in my honest opinion.
Definitely expect this post and/or this entire thread to disappear in ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

I agree with not approving of this at all. CW now as it stands I only get charms from the 8 hrs tb don't like this but I always looked forward to the speed up which you now have taken away from me. So I just wanted to thank you for taking this one joy I had.

I've passed along the feedback for this perk to our teams. They'll keep this in mind for the rewards in the future. Since I've passed along the feedback, I'm closing this thread to further comments.
