Charm Parties
Why does the meter move at different rates? I have been to parties where very expensive charms were being given and the meter barely moved and other time it seems like only a couple charms were given and the party busts. It's very confusing.

If the entrance fee for the party is more expensive, then the meter fills up more slowly (it takes more Charms to fill it) but gives out larger rewards for each step along the way.
The idea is you can choose to attend less expensive (and get less valuable Charms) or more expensive parties (and get more valuable Charms) - whichever makes sense for you.

very good question
I am new and have no clue.
I do not know how to play Texas hold em , roulette , Kentucky derby , and those are always challenges (for me).
Bingo and Solitaire I understand :)

Yep - we could do better at explaining things than we do today. It's definitely an area we could get better at.

Thank you Doug.
Maybe I am just a knucklehead! In all honesty, I am not a gambler, I have been to Vegas and play the slot machines, if anything! :)

That young man is not very happy, every comment and post is negative

No no, you're not a knucklehead for not knowing how to play all of these games. Some of them (like poker) are really quite complicated and take a while to learn.
Please don't feel pushed into playing games you're not comfortable with. We like to invite people to explore more games through the challenges, but if a game just is too hard to manage, it's fine to ignore it. There should be enough other challenges in the month that you are comfortable with to hopefully finish the season.

- Hi Lori I used to be intimidated by poker as well but its pretty simple do you understand all the hands to look for? in most card decks there is one card that gives the hands from:
- A Pair
- two pairs
- 3 of a kind
- straight = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 etc 9 10 J Q K A...A 2 3 4 5 ...the highest straight wins if two players hit a straight
- Flush = 5 cards same suit 5 hearts, 5 spades, 5 clubs, 5 diamonds
- Full House 2 of a kind (pair) + 3 of a kind trips ...etc JJ 222 33QQQ etc like that
- 4 of a kind 3333J QQQQ5 etc not a common hand that comes up and beats others so great one to bet hard on
- Straight Flush 8 7 6 5 4 of same suit hearts, diamonds, spades, clubs( beats all of them even 4 of a kind but odds of this hand showing is rare as well)
- ROYAL FLUSH A, K, Q, J, 10, all the same suit
the game starts with the dealer so each player at some point becomes dealer position
there is the small blind player 1/2 bet
large blind player full bet
they have to be played by those players in that position, the first to act after those two blinds are in has the choice to call the blind which may start at 50 or you can raise the blind bet to 100 etc ( there are more rules on this) or go all in at that point but its not wise to do so because your only aiming to win the small blind if you scare other players off from betting. Or you can choose to fold your cards if you feel they stand no chance to win....so the game proceeds on and on to other players with the same choice call, check ( this is no further bet) bet, raise bet or fold.
you can google simple instructions on how to play...now learning the game style here is also diff than a real game because we have a virtual timer so u hv a bit of time to make a choice, call the bet, raise the bet or fold...now if you call a bet and another player raises that bet then you have to choose when it comes around back to you to call or fold on that persons bet ( now they could be betting high with nothing ( this is called bluffing) so pay attention to the hand you have if its good and odds seem in your favor you can choose to call that bet or raise their raise lol which can be fun lol )
I hope this helps for you to understand a bit once you understand the basics and remember the hands its a simple game

Agreed I know I would hv missed some detail...yes the small blind is important in a sense its not a full bet or loss and it gives that position a chance to fold, call the full blind to play, call or raise if any other position raised the blind around the table...so to fold at that point isn't a big money loss to the player if they so choose to.
its a game with many rules so to speak but once you play it for a few games in person and watch how it plays out and keep the hands in mind its not so bad.
Your correct about seat as well since your a man of details not surprised you noticed some details missing in my description but by God I Did it! was alot to write! seating in this game site isnt an issue because the site positions us.

Problem being CW doesn't have a place you can go to get rules on all games. We shouldn't have to explain it to one another. I am going on almost 8 months on CW. Dougaroo don't you think it's long past the time we should have instructions to all the games? I do.
