We now have an official status feed on Twitter:

https://twitter.com/status_casino

which we will use to post if there are site wide problems (e.g. if a critical piece of our infrastructure crashes).  We may also (in time) announce changes that are coming prior to their release, if those changes might surprise people.  That will take a bit of time to get rolling smoothly, but this gives us a new place for that information.

  I've permanently banned by twitter, so this is no help to me.

  Is there anywhere else I can find the status of CW?

  You don't need to sign into Twitter to view the twitter feed.  So it doesn't matter if they have banned you.  Anyone can read - you just can't post (but nor can anyone else on that feed except for us).
