Txt Being censored for simple word like c r a p
everytime I text that simple word crap c r a p CW turns it into complete nonsense that lookes like i cant spell..why is that word being censored?

Yeah fair enough - that's not really a swear word in this day and age.
We've adjusted the filters so after Monday's release you should be able to say that when discussing the blackjack dealer's ability to draw an ace just when they need it :)

well this is really odd because I see very rude user names that I'm shocked got through the system that had no business being allowed at all! they should have been blocked, "wet pussy" was allowed for a pet name and that's pretty suggestive and rude and really should have been censored and Ive seen names with the f word in it etc

So all this being said ;) it seemed unbelievable my phrase I used "crap hands" for my poker game seemed extremely ridiculous to say the least especially when we see really rude avatar names made it through the filter on this site lol
so yes the filters need to change to fit adult maturity but it doesn't mean we want to be barraged by people swearing in the party rooms either.

Censorship is a funny thing - this site allows other words that would embarrass a truck driver but they took offense by crap! How funny is that.

I've been on sites where they censored the word Saturday, because it contains the word t*u*r*d, lol. Pls CW don't fall into that trap. Some censorship is good & necessary, but it can be taken way too far.

Michael B17, I had the very same thing happen to me yesterday, with the contraction of those two words.
This is exactly what I was talking about before in this thread, where the censorship algorithm goes way beyond what it should detect as unacceptable, and rejects totally innocuous words or word combinations
I also found out if you use the word "hitting", you can't precede it with any word ending in the letter "s", because the algorithm ignores the space between the two words, and perceives it as the "bad word" that is another name for c*r*a*p, lol. I used both this "offensive" combination and the one in the previous paragraph several times in an Inbox reply message, and it literally took me 20 minutes to find and correct all the "bad words" I had unknowingly written, before I could send it. I WAS NOT a happy camper!

Agreed - this filtering is excessively aggressive. We'll adjust it in a few weeks so we stop blocking this sort of stuff. (Our filtering logic used to be used in kids games and we wanted to make sure nothing slipped through - not an issue in Casino World).
