Not able to accept invitation to a party

Recently, when I try to go to a party that I get invited to (the big blue invite that flashed on the screen saying joe smoe is inviting you to join the party), I get a message that says "I'm not allowed to a private party" (paraphrasing as I don't remember the exact message).  What's up with that?

  A private party is either the host has you blocked or the host has it set for friends only.   whisper to the person who sent it to you and find out whos party they are in and go see that persons profile if your blocked it will say that person has you blocked and if you can see the profile and they not your friend its friends only party
