party goers
I went to a few parties today, more than usual because of the gem instad o charm giveaway. ther were some very generous gifters. i am moderate because i don't have a lot of gems, however i do participate. i noticed today there were many many people who simply take and do not participate. Is this common? I have only been here a couple of months. Also how does one get more gems without buying them.

treasure boxes are good for gems try the one with flames coming out of them. Yes todays partys are a little more zombies then charmers.

Unfortunately, there are people who will attend parties and never buy a charm, not even the least expensive one in the room. I've been playing for a long time, and the party participation has gotten increasingly worse. It used to be that you could block the non-gifters, so they didn't receive whatever charms you threw. People complained about being blocked (suspect it was those non-gifters), so CW took that feature away so no one's feelings would be hurt.
That's the reason I choose to go to more Grab and Go parties now. Everyone pays the same amount to get in. Some people will still throw at these parties, but most will leave if they don't intend to throw anything. Those that stay are usually the non-gifters hoping to get a few more charms.
I also like required toss parties, but only attend a couple on a regular basis. All that come to those parties know what is required and will toss the correct number and kind of charms. Not always guaranteed, because just last night, a Tourist came into a VIP required toss party, hoping to get any pre-party charms and the entry fee charms once the party was successful. This person has done it before, so they know exactly what they are doing.
All that being said, CW is just a mirror image of our society--those that give and those that take.

How did the tourist get into a VIP party?

No sure. Maybe the party wasn't marked VIP only?

They can get in but usually soon as the party starts they get poofed

Yes, Michael, they do. But don't they receive the entry charms for the party being successful? If it's a required toss party, and they get kicked out, it leaves the other party goers short on the charms expected. Plus they take the place of someone who was prepared to throw the required charms, but couldn't get into the party.

No they go poof before it starts. I think it tells them vip's only. I've seen people go to toss partys and when there name is called say sorry don't have any gems. People don't take the time to read the descriptions of the party even tho the host keeps saying toss this or that.

Unfortunately, if you get a party invitation from a friend and accept it, there's no way to read the description beforehand. I'm very careful about accepting party invites these days, especially very expensive ones, if I'm not sure exactly what's expected since requirements seem to be becoming a lot more frequent. So far I've never ended up in a requirement party that I didn't deliberately go to, but I imagine other people who aren't as careful as I am, probably have. Lately some of the requirement parties have had pretty low entrance costs, so you can't always use that as a clue either.
