I spun 25 times and not one paid out so I swapped it and got that one game of poker with a large and small hand thing.  Only had to play 25 hands of that game and I came out ahead

It took me 450 spins to get 2 free spins at 1K coins.

Well, this answers two question I have: Does everyone get the same challenges during the season? Is Detective Story the worst slot ever?

Took me over 700 pins to complete the challenge.

I think we all get the same monthly challenges but the daily are different

They got rid of Coming of Spring but kept Detective Story...go figure.

Still trying to get my free spins. The last time I tried I spun 650 times with hardly any wins or free spins.

Very well put Denise. Thank you for that! Finally, after nearly 1500 spins I get my 2 free spins. Even betting at 1,000 coins I still lost a goodly amount and didn't get nearly anything back in payouts. Thank you again CW!

OMG I thought it was just me.... i spent 90 million for 2 free spins, and eventually played most at 1000 and 4000 what a terrible challenge. thankful i wasnt the only one but it is frustrating and disappointing.

thanks for the messages... wow. what a day.

I agree with all of the above. I gave up. I am not willing to lose all my coins in one game. I come to Casino World to unwind from a stressful day. I don't need any extra frustrations...that's not why I am here. I am a VIP, so I feel like I am making a contribution to this game every month already. Note, key word...GAME. Have fun everybody. <3

Detective Story has to be the absolutely worst slot on CW!!  It barely pays off and after an hour I still have NOT gotten any free spins!  I'm giving up as you'd lose all your money trying for free spins which don't exist and it doesn't pay out like other slots.  Forget this challenge!  Not worth it!

Swap it and you get that poker game Double Dragon Pai Gow.  You have to play I think 25 hands and you still get 40 reward points when finished

Thx for letting me know about swapping.  I didn't know you could do that but that gold icon on top left was a surprise!

Denise, you so eloquently speak for so many of here at CW. I am losing patience and interest!

Just posting to say I got the free spins in under 400 tries.

To be sure, I'm not denying any of the posts listing the problems folks faced in this challenge, these things certainly can be difficult. Am only saying, just as Night Guy said, for some of us it went OK.

Regardless, and as always, good luck to all.

P.S. I do not like that slot.

I agree!!  Detective Story is one of the worse slots.   When we use to be able to "speed spin", I use to win at least something on this slot.   CW then took away the ability for us to "speed spin" which I don't understand why.    There are several slots I use to get "BIG WINS" on because I could get the free spins more frequently,  by using "speed spin", which included Detective Story.     NOT ANYMORE!!!  LOL     That's probably why they took the "speed spin" ability away from us because it helped us get the free spins more often which led to the big wins.    Good luck everyone!

I thought it was just me. I tend to not be a lucky gambler. I like to play though. I do NOT like Detective Story.  I don't remember how many spins it took, but was in the hundreds. Very few payoffs. If it comes out again as a challenge, definitely switching it out.

It is the worst slot. How does a player swap to a different challenge?

In my six months of play here, I've learned a few things about Flowplay's slot machines, and because of that, earned a lot of coins from them.

First, if you're playing a slot and it's not paying, or paying but not enough to recover your bet and some profit, WALK AWAY and don't keep wasting coins on it.  This is particularly important when you're doing a challenge. Online slots are accessible any time with little effort, so you can leave it for awhile, and easily try again later.  There's no sense continuing to lose coins on a particular slot if the timing isn't right.  As little as 5 minutes later, the pay cycle may shift in your favor. It's not as if this is a brick and mortar casino where you have to make the effort to drive there, find a parking spot, wait around to play a popular/paying slot because all the machines are taken, or have to walk around a large area to get to that slot or get back to it if you leave the area.  All that kind of stuff can make you feel like you have to stay on on one machine or slot, even if it's not paying, because you think it's going to, but doesn't make sense when playing virtual slots.

Second, mostly it seems the slots on CW start paying out for you only after you've invested a certain  amount of coins in them, usually over a period of time.  I have no idea how many coins though, and it seems to be different for each slot.  I will play any slot with a decent jackpot that I don't usually win on every so often, only investing a small amount of coins and a few spins, and usually, I eventually start getting wins. The frequency and amount of wins varies by slot, like with physical casino slots.  Also, like physical slots, most on CW go through periods where they're hardly paying or not paying at, and other times when they're really hot.

When you see announcements that several other players are winning millions of coins on a slot in a short period of time, it's running hot.  You should try it, however, you may or may not get a big win.  If only one player is winning big on a slot, it's usually not a good indicator, especially if they're a new player.  Leave a hot slot if you aren't winning profitably after a few spins, but come back multiple times if others are still winning big.  That's how I got started winning on Detective Story.

One night, I saw multiple players were winning big on it.  I had only been on CW a couple of months and the slot's jackpots were always low, so I couldn't believe it was giving these big payouts.    Low jackpot amounts usually mean no or low payouts, and big jackpot amounts, big payouts, but not always.  I played it for a few spins with no success, but still kept seeing others winning big.  I went back to it several times, and finally hit for 69.5M from Free Spins on a 500K bet.  The 500K jackpot was only 337M.  I got two more big wins on it that night, 10.9M and 15.6M from a 250K bet, where the jackpot was only 75M.

From then on, I occasionally gave Detective Story a few spins, but the jackpots remained low and it almost never payed anything out.  About three months after its "hot" streak, CW had a promo for Detective Story, giving 5 bonus spins on Free Spins and a 2x multiplier on the wins.  My first try produced a 15M win on a 500K bet (jackpot 135M), but not from Free Spins.  Went back later in the day and got 10 Free Spins plus the 5 bonus spins.  With the 2x multiplier, my win was a whopping 83.9M coins on a bet of 250K (jackpot 71M).

Now to get to the current Monthly Challenge - get Free Spins 2x on Detective Story.  CW also gave 5 extra bonus spins on Free Spins, the first day the challenge was posted.  Since it's a monthly challenge, you have until the end of the month to complete it, although previously I've always managed to get the Free Spins challenges done in one day.  So far, after playing the slot multiple times the first day, I got one set of 10 Free Spins plus the 5 extra spins bonus, with a win total of 20.3M on a 100K bet.  I haven't gotten my second set of Free Spins yet, but I'm still trying.  On a "Get Free Spins x times on slot x" challenge, low bets seem to be where you have the best chance of getting Free Spins.  I've been successful on all these challenges since I started here, mostly on bets of 40K or 100K.  Also, because of the low bets and playing patiently, I've only ever lost a few million coins to complete these challenges.

I also am on 7 Seas, user name Rare Orchid, and we had the same Monthly Challenge for Detective Story as CW.  After multiple tries, I finished it in one day, with a win of 3M from 10 Free Spins @ 100K bet (jackpot 69M), and a second win of 54.9M from 10 Free Spins @ 500K (jackpot 198M).  Before the Free Spins came, I had an an 8.2M win  for a 500K bet.  Three months ago, shortly after I started on the site, I got my first two wins on Detective Story.  First one was for 3.2M on a 250K bet, second one later that night for 1.8M on a 100K bet.   Then, about a month ago, I got an 8.4M win there on a 500K bet.

So, is it difficult to win profitably or to get to Free Spins on Detective Story?  Yes, it can be  if it's not in paying cycle, and if you haven't already invested enough coins in the slot, but my experience shows that it can be done, if you're patient enough.  Check my photos for proof that I got all the wins mentioned in this posting.

Alot of times if your losing on slots your spinning too high and using too little charms you cant spin 500 K per spin and use beer charms.  You need 3 or 4 clovers for that amount of bet.
